THE UNDERLYING INSPIRATION

Crafted in Simplicity, Engraved for Eternity: Set in Stone.
This phrase signifies rendering something permanent, certain, and unwavering. Throughout history, Native people communicated their ideas using iconography etched onto various mediums. By utilizing geological features as their canvas, they conveyed enduring visions. Petroglyph creators crafted their designs by pecking, scratching, and carving, often removing the weathered surface to reveal the lighter rock beneath. This artistic act mirrored the concept of creating lasting, unalterable impressions - a theme that resonates with the essence of "set in stone."
